you say that timing is everything, and it’s true. but i think you’re just too cowardly to admit to my face and realize out loud that, even more so than timing - the heart of every surviving relationship pumps and thrives on the life of this one thing, this one thing that we seem to be missing: two people who want to be with each other. and maybe it’s just that, that you don’t want it enough. and i would never want to be with someone who doesn’t want me enough. because you can have a ton of things in common with someone, the chemistry is very much intact and recognizable (maybe to the point of being electric, which often confuses itself as something more substantial, like love), you enjoy each other’s company, you recognize each other’s worth, and it all makes so much sense in theory.

but, at the end of the day, you go home to sleep in your own bed, and you sleep just fine.

that just tells me everything i need to know for the moment.
